"Ophthalmoscope oot for the lads"

How good it is to see the press taking an interest in optometry. Last week a hack from the Newcastle Journal decided to pop along to the optician, well it was only seven years since he had been. The report ( seriously have a look) is truly bizarre. Presumably it must be Geordie humour although I know a few people from the North East and generally this is the sort of stuff they hate, pure Sid The Sexist ( Viz circa 1990 stuff). The only difference being is that it is angled at at the overweight, one optician in particular. Perhaps I'm just a soft southern ba?%*@^rd.
