The press is often accused of never printing good news but there seem to have been a spate of optician spots brain tumour-type stories of late.
The first concerns a brain condition missed by doctors in a mum from Burnley. The Telegraph reports that doctors had missed the condition which was picked up following a visit to an optician on the advice of a friend.
As with another story in the Mirror about a girl who was saved by a ride on a rollercoaster she was also alerted by an optician to the worsening of her condition.
Now no one is counting but it would be nice to think that the role played by optometrists in such cases don't go unnoticed.
