Opticians Rip off Britain

Anyone who watches day time TV will have been served up a treat on Monday if they wear glasses.The BBC have combined the forces of Gloria Hunniford, Angela Rippon and Jennie Bond to explain how we are all being ripped off by Opticians.

Watch it on the BBC iPlayer.The argument is a well worn one. It compares the price of the product in the high street with buying it online or comparing it to the component parts.

There was the usual from Jamie Murray Wells, disgruntled shoppers and a helpful ex boss of Vision Express explaining how lenses only cost 25p each. There was even an AOP bod confirming that the glasses bought on the internet adhered to the same standards as glasses provided in the high street. She did go on to explain why hetting glasses face to face was better.
