Unless you were abducted by aliens last summer it cannot have escaped your notice that the very first Optrafair London takes place tomorrow and over the weekend at Olympia.
Pre-registrations for the show have been fantastic, in addition around 1,200 people have signed up for the educational programmes, many of which are full and the build is well underway. There are features galore including window dressing, models, a relaxation zone and an ask the experts forum.
On the Saturday there is even the Optician Awards to add to the excitement.
In these days of social media the build up has been widely tweeted by Optician and from the www.optrafair-london.co.uk website. It's incredibly impressive seeing an exhibition built up from scratch. While its nice to see the build up phase I'm wondering if it detracts from the wow factor of setting foot inside a show for the first time. A bit like seeing the bride get ready for her big day rather than get the full impact when she starts to walk down the aisle.
