Turf wars are always a bit ugly but this latest move by the hospitality crowd is going too far. Basically a conference organiser has started to lay on glasses (albeit ready readers) for his guests after descovering delegates often forgot their specs and struggle to read literature at the venue. Optometry can't take this lying down. Next time you have a customer in a rush why not set aside a meeting room or better still. Tea, scone and jam. That should be worth £15 per head of anyone's money.
