Such a crowded calendar

Chris Bennett

There can surely never have been a year as busy for optics as 2014.  Hardly has the taste of lager and Bratwurst faded than a frenetic period of activity approaches for March and April.

The month kicks off with a drinks reception in the West End of London for those shortlisted, judges and sponsors of the Optician Awards. This is closely followed by MIDO in Milan and Vision Expo East in New York. By mid month the College's Optometry Tomorrow's conference heads to York while the Midlands sees ABDO's conference and the Optix's user group shortly after. April promises to bring the main event as the Optrafair weekend looms.

From the Friday to Sunday everyone who is anyone in optics will head to Olympia for Optrafair London. To heighten excitement event further the Saturday night sees the presentation of the Optician Awards in front of an audience expected to be around the 600 mark.

February is also shaping up to be a busy time. Optician’s new website is now ready for launch and testing is currently underway. Keep you eye peeled for more.
