Spent this morning hosting a round table discussion on kids and teens with a nice bunch of practitioners drawn from all corners of the country.
The setting was Johnson & Johnson's Vision Care Institute near Wokingham in Berkshire. A campus of deep thought on a grey November day.
The meeting highlighted some strong areas of agreement on why practitioners don't fit as many young people with contact lenses as they might. Interestingly in the main the reasons weren't as child-centric as you might think. The barriers tended to be more reflections on practitioner attitudes than children.
An even stronger message came through on the benefits children and teenagers derive from contact lens wear.
