An unpredictable summer is ending, and it feels like we have never been far away from a few storm clouds. In my last column, I mentioned the election and now we have a Labour government with a huge majority set to legislate for the next five years.
As they get their feet under the Cabinet table, they have seemed keen to grasp the nettle of health staff pay disputes. Offers have been made to striking doctors, both junior and senior, but the old game of whack-a-mole has caused another band of grievance to pop up in the realm of general practice.
