The reluctant presbyope society

Infinitylogo.bmpOptician has a disproportionate number of 50 somethings and until recently none of them were wearing progressive lenses.

When the opportunity to  get first hand experience of progressive lenses presented itself it fell to our production editor to take on the challenge.

He's the guy who sits behind a giant screen most of the day but also has to check page proofs and talk to people on the other side of the room on a fairly regular basis. Outside of works he's an outdoor sort of chap. Needless to say he requires numerous changes in distance fixation and undergoes a lot of stress and a lot of eye strain. When the half century arrives the toll begins to tell.
