The world's gone CET mad

Chris Bennett

For the last couple of years optical life has been dominated by CET and, as we are now all European, we could say: plus ca change. Optician's journal assistant Kay has always been in the front line when it comes to CET calls to the office but in recent days the phone has been ringing off the hook so we have all been takiong calls. We are in one of those situation you get in a long race where the winners are lapping those at the back of the field. While everyone calling the office has a query or a peoblem they are a strange mixture of those who are keen to get their 36 point ASAP so they can enjoy the rest of the three year cycle CET-free and those who we can only describe as late adoptors. After describing what CET was and how it all worked to one caller I discovered they weren't subscriber to Optician so suggested they checked the CEToptics site to see how may points they already had. The eerie silence in response said it all.
