It's that old devil called CET

CET is frequently mentioned on this blog and not without cause. The problems caused by CET are almost exclusively computer problems and rarely have anything to do with a professional's ability to care for patients or understand optometry. It is rather a shame then that 300-odd souls find themselves erased from the register for not meeting their CET requirements. 71 of these are blissfully unaware that they are going to be erased and have paid their fees and filled in all the forms. Optician sees how easy it is for practitooners to get on the wrong side of computer systems. Currently around 50 readers cannot have their points uploaded beacause they simply haven't filled in their registration details correctly on our website ( or the GOC's register). Optician is currently publishing something in the region of 6 modules a month with upto 3,000 participants per module. Rather than deprive them of their points Optician's journal assistant Kay dilligently contacts them all -- Now there's duty for you.
