You wait for years for a decent coating then several come along at once.
Just a few days ago I wrote about my experience with Pinfeel from Riviera Rimless . I majored on the look of the product but having worn it for a while the coating is the thing that really stands out as being different. The ability to sweep across the lens with a cloth also helps no end. It just so happens that I had the opportunity to see Shamir's Glacier plus coating in action recently too, this time glazed in Transitions into an Oakley Jawbone frame. Riding with specs on a bike ensures the coating really gets messy. But it's also a great opportunity to see how well it works. The ability to clean the coating makes a huge difference in these circumstances but the performance of the coating is so good that hasn't been a problem . At this time of the year the other issue is the lens steaming up when you stop. Even though the air vents slots haven't been glazed into this lens ( as is the case on the originial plano fit) there is very little condensation even on chilly mornings.
