Is the much-hyped Glass device from Google in crisis? Optician's products blog investigates

This blog post really should have  started with something along the lines of “Google Glass has been hard to ignore,” but there’s a problem – it hasn’t.

A recent article on Business Insider claims that many developers have stopped working on apps  because the device has limited appeal in the consumer realm and limited functionality. Beta testers – sorry - "Explorers" seem to be shying away too. Google Nexus devices have traditionally sold out quickly, but this doesn’t appear to be the case Google Glass. The device is currently available in all colours within one-to-two business days and has been available consistently from launch, with only brief periods early on when certain colours have been sold out. Maybe its high price point (£1,000) is keeping people away? Or could it be its slightly awkward looks?
