View from the high street: Start planning for tough times

Firstly, thank you to my colleagues North and South of the border who took the time to contact me about being the new VFTHS columnist. With keyboard and print comes great responsibility and I will try to live up to it!

At the end of my last article, I alluded to some changes coming our way, and I will try and outline them with some clarity in this piece.
