Francesca Blackmore encourages optical assistants to ask themselves tough questions while building their careers
Last month, we celebrated 12 years since the doors officially opened at my first practice and while I’m proud of my achievements over those years, it would be fair to say that I became a practice owner through the sheer happenstance of being in the right place at the right time.
So, often I can’t help but wonder how many wonderful, optical assistants and other non-registrants out there would be fantastic in business owner or senior management roles, but won’t get the chance because, like me, they have the sheer audacity of not being an optometrist or dispensing optician.
