Vision Direct opts for pug power

Online optical retailer Vision Direct has released a Christmas advert to rival the finest of emotive man on the moon or fluffy penguin narratives.

‘A Pug’s Christmas’ tells the story of a bespectacled pug struggling in life, loyal child owner and devoted parents – all the hallmarks of Christmas advert gold.

Without spoiling the end, the festivities appear to have come to a sudden stop when the pug breaks through a sheet of thin ice.

Nevertheless, Vision Direct will appeal to the masses, especially dog lovers, through the social media campaign. As creator Sam Orams says: ‘It’s a chance to really stretch our storytelling muscles and to indulge in those warm feelings of nostalgia that most of us associate with Christmas.’
