Feedback: Low vision interactive 1

The first in a series of interactive CPD exercises appeared in Optician 22.04.22. The source material for this exercise was an article by low vision specialist optometrist Cirta Tooth, titled 'Sight impairment: To refer or not to refer?' that was published in Optician 14.04.22. This had focused on the certification and registration of patients as either sight impaired (SI, formerly known as partially sighted) and severe sight impaired (SSI, formerly known as blind). Much of the article discussed the results of a small-scale survey of optometrists and their understanding of the process of registration. A majority of participants felt they would benefit from extra training in this matter.
