​A 10 year vision for optometry in Wales has been detailed by the WOC

A 10 year vision for optometry in Wales has been detailed by the Welsh Optometry Committee (WOC) in a document that outlined targets for the profession.

Professor Barbara Ryan, co-chair of the WOC, said: ‘With Covid, the already long delays for hospital based ophthalmic care have increased and hence this document presents our ambitious vision of how optometry teams can provide innovative solutions and ensure people can access timely, safe, quality eye care in future.’

The WOC, which advised the Welsh Government on optometry-related matters, said its document tied in with recently published plans to transform the optometry contract in Wales.
