An opticians in Shifnal which closed suddenly without notice in January has been taken over by SR Drinnan Opticians.
The practice, formerly known as Tim Vanes Opticians, closed suddenly when owner Timothy Guy Vanes was charged with possessing extreme pornographic images (Porn charges for DO).
Owners of SR Drinnan Opticians Indy Douley and Harvey Douley have retained all admin staff and patient records, and will welcome back the practice’s three optometrists in the coming weeks.
The new owners commented: 'We were aware that the opticians was closing the day after a sign went up in the door.'
'We're also honouring all patient orders and promises. There were quite a few orders that were placed in the weeks leading up to the practice closing with no notice, so we've taken over a big priority that has been ensuring these are sorted.'
‘Everything came to light once we got the ball rolling so it wasn’t a contributing factor,’ commented the new owners. 'We officially had ownership on the Saturday before opening on the Monday. We had to turn things around quite quickly and over that weekend we refurbished the practice.'
Previous owner Vanes, 61, pleaded guilty to his charges earlier in February and will be sentenced on March 6.
