VCHP clinic plans Gloucester opening

Plans for a new weekly clinic at the Rikenel Health Centre in Gloucester have been announced by Vision Care for Homeless People (VCHP).

Funding for the charity’s ninth clinic in England was provided by Gloucestershire CCG and supported by the Local Optical Committee.

Karen Gennard, optometrist and clinic manager, expected the clinic to be busy. ‘We know that homeless people don’t always have easy access to health services and as we will be in the same building as GPs and nurses caring for the homeless community we are expecting to have many referrals,’ she said.
