Lens manufacturer Zeiss has announced a partnership with Williams Racing to become an official supplier to the Formula 1 team.
The company explained that it would provide Williams Racing with its Metrotom 1500 industrial computed tomography system alongside other equipment that would improve the team’s metrology capabilities.
‘It’s with great pleasure that we can welcome Zeiss as a Williams Racing official suppler in year when Zeiss celebrates the 175th anniversary of pioneering technological advances in optics,’ said Al Peasland, head of technical partnerships and innovation at Williams Racing.
Dr Jochen Peter, the Zeiss executive board member for industrial quality and research, added: ‘Safety and reliability are indispensable in Formula 1, qualities for which our customers value us and our products worldwide.’
