Awards 2016: Technology gives this winner the edge

Investment over the past five years has enabled Keith Murphy Opticians to become one of only three owners in England of an expensive Zeiss i.Profiler Plus scanner. It is used to gather wavefront augmenting data, which are saved in patient profiles and made accessible to patients at home via a secure platform on the practice’s website.

Patients can log-in to their individual profile and find information on their condition, test results and simulations of vision. ‘The i.Profiler and OCT machines have enabled us to deliver early detection of abnormal ocular conditions such as keratoconus and maculopathies,’ says Keith Murphy, the owner of the winning practice.
