The company - with a 24-year history - originally set out its stall as a provider of good quality low-cost eyewear. It enjoyed remarkable success in its early years, at one point experiencing growth of more than 1,000 per cent. However, eight years ago, Librae made a key decision to shift the company's focus. 'I saw that the market for good quality low-cost eyewear was plateauing. We could try to grow the business in that area, but instead we decided to move into branded and designer eyewear.'
