Stokes Opticians is very much a family business. Robert Stokes, a contact lens optician, established the practice in 1980 in West Bromwich. Since then he has been supported by his wife on reception and accounts, and gradually joined by their three sons, Nick, Tim and Richard. Both Nick and Tim are dispensing opticians and Richard an optometrist with a particular interest in ocular therapeutics and the anterior segment. Robert is also in charge of the onsite glazing laboratory and Nick has an additional responsibility for practice administration. The practice has built a patient base of around 10,000, no doubt due in no small way to the pride taken by all members of the team to provide friendly, as well as high quality levels of care and service at all stages of the patient journey through the practice.
