UltraVision: KeraSoft AV
Ultravision says its KeraSoft AV is the first specialist monthly disposable soft contact lens specifically designed for keratoconus patients, with an easy fit system offering innovative features for improved comfort and vision.
Available in powers +/-30.00DS with cylinder correction of up to -11.00DC, the lens incorporates an adjustable design offering three lens options (mild, moderate, advanced) tailored to cone advancement, enhancing fit and reducing chair time.
The KeraSoft AV employs peripheral balancing zones (PBZ) for stabilisation. These PBZs interact with the upper and lower eyelids, enhancing lens stability and visual acuity, especially for patients with low cones.
Exclusively available to eye care professionals, the lens has a thin design, with a central thickness of 0.12mm, promoting healthier wear with increased Dk/t compared to thicker keratoconic lenses.
Mark’ennovy: EDOF for presbyopia
Extended Depth of Focus (EDOF) for presbyopia from mark’ennovy is an individually crafted, daily wear, 75% water proprietary silicone hydrogel lens for the presbyopic market.
This next generation technology from the Brien Holden Vision Institute is designed to give good quality vision at all distances and, from the eye care professional’s perspective, it is said to be easy to fit for a seamless patient experience.
EDOF mimics the eye’s natural ability to focus at different distances, just like pre-presbyopic eyes can see clearly from far away to up close. Studies show better overall visual satisfaction compared to standard multifocal designs. It is also helps minimise visual disturbances, such as ghosting and haloes.
EDOF is available in a wide range of diameters and base curves for optimal centration and stability, which is essential in toric fits.

Positive Impact: Alexa AR
Positive Impact launched Alexa AR contact lenses in the UK last year, offering independents a new concept in orthokeratology from the pharmaceutical company Tiedra.
Positive Impact says the differential aspect of Alexa AR is in the alignment zone that maximises horizontal force, offering exceptional centring and stabilisation, a faster emmetropisation speed and a wider compensation range up to -10.00D. The high-resolution Alexa AR design features four curves for compensation up to -5.00D and a five-curve design for compensation from -5.00 to -10.00D, in both cases with reverse band.
The rigid gas permeable contact lenses are made from Paragon HDS 100 material, which is FDA-approved for overnight wear.
Positive Impact professional services director, Phil Thompson, said: ‘One of the key aspects that contributes to success using Alexa AR is the optimised fitting process. The unique design means easy empirical fitting, with better treatment memory management at the end of the day.’

CooperVision Specialty Lenses: EyeDream Ortho-k
EyeDream is an orthokeratology lens designed for the correction of myopia up to -5.50D and astigmatism (EyeDream TRX) up to -2.50D.
The EyeDream family is approved for myopia management, with the EyeDream MC lens featuring a smaller 5.5mm optic zone designed to optimise the myopia management effect.
Fitted in the UK since 2005, EyeDream is used in more than 350 practices across the UK and Ireland. The fitting process is supported by Visavy, a cloud-based software compatible with various topography models that offer tools for myopia management, direct messaging and order status updates.
The company’s EyeDream Care Plan includes a no-charge initial fitting, a three-month fitting period and two free exchanges, and the lenses are automatically replaced six-monthly to promote optimal visual performance and ocular health.
Practitioners are required to obtain accreditation to fit EyeDream lenses. Accreditation can be completed for free and includes a one-to-one webinar session with CooperVision specialty lenses’ experienced professional affairs team.
