A dvising patients on their fitness to drive has long been an area of concern for practitioners and there has been much debate over the years about what should replace the number plate test. We have all heard the horror stories of drivers fatally injuring pedestrians or other road users because they were driving with a visual impairment, and drivers with poor eyesight continue to get behind the wheel believing their vision is fine.
