If you spend 30 minutes with a client in your consulting room, you will have spent about £60 (give or take a bit) by the time you finish. How much have you earned during that 30 minutes - well, that's whatever the GOS pays or whatever you charge for that appointment.
Just think about this for a minute (Table 1). Typically a practice will be £35 or so out of pocket at the end of the first eye test (sic) on a Monday morning - that will equate to about £2,500 loss at the end of week. This presupposes that you don't have a retail arm to your business of course.
