Optician delves into the findings of a recent research project into the contact lens market

A recent news item on CooperVision-sponsored Contact Lens Research 2014 revealed there was much more eye care practitioners (ECPs) could do in terms of communicating their offer of contact lenses as a vision correction choice, with only 48 per cent of patients in this grouping being offered the product.

Practitioners agreed that they were best placed with 86 per cent stating that they and their staff were the main sources patients used to find out about new contact lens technology. Practice websites, by contrast, were described as the main source by just 9 per cent, compared to the internet at 73 per cent.
