Having the best and latest optical equipment at the best possible price can be crucial to a practice’s success. Visitors to Optrafair London were able to get up to speed with an abundance of cutting edge developments.

Leading the way at Kensington Olympia was Topcon, which launched no fewer than nine new products at the show. ‘The main focus for us is still OCT,’ comments Graham Trevor, director of diagnostic instrument sales at Topcon. ‘The Maestro is fully automatic so the customer doesn’t really have to do anything; the machine is almost like a robot. Now we have a new version – the 3D OCT-1 Maestro Solo – that does not include a fundus camera. So if you already have a camera, you can buy just the OCT product. There is a step down in price to match the loss of functionality and keeping instruments separate can be useful in terms of practice layout too.’
