Optician Awards: Accommodating your customers is key

Amid an exceptionally stacked field of contenders for Dispensing Optician of the Year at the Optician Awards 2022, one entry stood out. Practice manager at David Burghardt Vision Care, Richard Spencer, triumphed by providing clear evidence of his expertise and the positive impact his work has had on patients’ quality of life, according to judges.  

‘The awards night was an amazing experience,’ says Spencer. ‘Spending the evening celebrating with team members and friends from across the industry. It was a real shock when my name was announced, I never expected to win. It was a great feeling to hear my colleagues cheer for me as I went up onto the stage. I’m proud to have won and genuinely feel it reflects my patients journey with me over the past 12 months.’
