Jostling for position in the market town of Beccles has ultimately paid dividends for Observatory the Opticians after the independent practice picked up a top accolade at the Optician Awards.

Owner Jonathan Foreman described the Hoya-sponsored Independent Practice of the Year prize as the trump card and ‘the one you want to get’.

‘If you can meaningfully apply for this category then you’ve got a good business,’ Foreman says.

Observatory’s five practices, in Beccles, Ipswich, Southwold, Leigh-on-Sea and Muswell Hill, each have a unique demographic but share a company ethos focusing on patient experience.

Representatives from the prize-winning Beccles practice felt ‘on top of the world’ upon receiving the prize during a ceremony at the Hilton Park Lane London. Foreman, who was unable to attend due to an excursion to the Grand Canyon, knew the company was making significant strides already.
