Last month we reported an improvement over the preceding month, but some of the key performance indicators failed to meet the results achieved in January of the previous year. In February the positive trend continues with most of our indicators higher than last month and with the exception of sales volume of single vision lenses, the value of solutions sold and turnover per eye examination the results were higher than the same month in 2014. This month’s focus is on eye examinations and sample average dispensing volume.
Total practice turnover has improved by 5 per cent on January figures to 173 Index points and is just under half a per cent higher than February last year. This is the highest Index figure we have seen since June 2011 but annual growth is negative at 1.5 per cent. Turnover per eye examination is down by almost £1 to £167 from January, this is £6 lower than February last year.
