This image was taken of a 68-year-old female patient who presented for an examination complaining of peripheral photopsia of recent onset. She was not aware of any vitreous floaters at the time and her acuity, at 6/7.5, was stable and apparently unchanged. She was a -5.00DS myope. What might be the cause of her photopsia?
