Eye examinations increased by 7 per cent from March, but were still down by 4 per cent when compared to last April. It is now one year since free eye examinations were re-introduced in Scotland, and figures for our Scottish contributors have increased as expected. Eye examinations for Index contributors from Scotland have increased by almost 5 per cent from April 2006 results.
The proportion of NHS eye examinations was 70 per cent this month, and this figure has been relatively consistent since last April - when it was at 69 per cent. The exception was December, when this figure dipped to 67 per cent.
