Belfast-based Allclear Clinic, the first laser eye treatment centre to open in Northern Ireland has been acquired by Ultralase.

The acquisition is Ultralase's first since it was bought by 3i in February for £174.5m and the Allclear clinic will become Ultralase's 20th UK treatment centre. The purchase is part of an expansion strategy that includes plans to open three more UK consulting rooms and two further treatment clinics.

Ultralase chief executive, Tony Veverka said of the acquisition: 'We are keen to bring the expertise and reputation of Ultralase to Northern Ireland.'
