Leeds-based laser surgery and treatment specialist Ultralase has expanded its network of clinics by acquiring The Cambridge Eye Laser Clinic for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition is the company's second since it was bought by 3i in February for £174.5m, and follows the purchase of Belfast's Allclear clinic in April.
The Cambridge Eye Laser Clinic was started by ophthalmic surgeon and clinical director Chris Stephenson in 2002 as part of the Allclear Group. Stephenson, the NICE representative for Addenbrookes and Hinchingbrooke hospitals, bought out the clinic from the group in 2006.
The Cambridge Eye Clinic will now join Ultralase's 23 existing UK clinics as part of the group's ambitious expansion strategy. The company recently opened a new consulting room in Sheffield, and has plans to open three more this year.
