Practitioners will drive sales in 3D eyewear since they possess the optical expertise necessary to be able to explain the technology to consumers according to Oakley.

Speaking at a 3D eyewear promotional event in the Oakley UK Brand Centre in London, the company's chief executive officer Colin Baden and 3D category manager Chris Petrillo revealed the business opportunity for optical practices that they feel will be created by 3D technology.

Stating that 3D eyewear is a technical product that will need to be explained to customers, Petrillo said practitioners were 'the best people to deal with that as they can explain how to optimise eyewear for the 3D experience'.
