An 80 per cent pass rate has been reported in the College of Optometrists’ latest Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).
In total, 216 candidates sat the OSCE, the scheme for registration’s final assessment, in September – completing 17 five-minute stations.
Natasha McAleese, who took part in the exams, said: ‘Although I initially felt nervous, the time passed by very quickly. I felt the OSCE was a good scenario because it genuinely tested the skills that I’m using every day.’
The next OSCE examination will take place in January 2015 at the Royal College of General Practitioners in London.
