A call to support National Eye Health Week

Independent public eye health campaign National Eye Health Week (NEHW) will return on September 23-29 and organisers called on the full profession to help spread the word on eye health.

NEHW shares eye care advice with tens of millions of people every year, but David Cartwright, chair of Eye Health UK, which runs NEHW, said awareness of its importance remained low across important groups.

‘If the entire sector joined forces to raise the profile of optics, we could ensure important messages about eye care get heard and help make a positive difference to the state of the nation’s eye health. In-fact, it could be a real game-changer for optics,’ he said.
