Aces helps slash NHS waiting lists in Nottingham

Community eye care provider Aces has recently obtained approval from Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB to begin treating NHS eye care patients. 

Until now, NHS cataract patients in Nottingham have often faced considerable delays for treatment. The approval of Aces represented a step towards reducing the backlog. 

Aces said it typically treated NHS cataract patients four weeks from their pre-assessment, with opportunity for existing patients to have surgery within fourteen days. 

Aces surgeons were delivering the new NHS service from Optical Express’ state of the art clinic in Nottingham. 

Stephen Hannan, clinical services director at Optical Express and Aces, said: ‘This partnership has been crucial in supporting NHS patients up and down the country to get the visual care they need.’
