Practitioners can learn to take advantage of untapped consumer demand for contact lenses at a new training day next February.
This is the message from the Association of Contact Lens Manufacturers which will be hosting its first interactive training day solely aimed at showing practitioners how they can take financial advantage of the sector.
The event, the first of a number of conferences, hopes to attract up to 100 delegates.
The ACLM previously found that 48 per cent of spectacle wearers would be prepared to try contact lenses, if recommended by their practitioner. Following this, the London Business School produced a study into the UK contact lens market which found that a spectacles and contact lens patient was 1.5 times more profitable than a spectacles-only patient, based on an average lifetime value.
ACLMSecretary general Simon Rodwell said: ÔEvery practice will be able to act on the information from the training day immediately, and be more successful in todayÕs increasingly competitive marketplace.Õ
The event will be held at the Lakeside Centre at Aston University in Birmingham on February 4 and managed by Total Marketing Resource.
