Actman and Optoplast to merge

Eyewear company Andrew Actman along with sister company Actman & Mico and Optoplast Eyewear have announced the merger of the three businesses in a joint statement.

According to the statement, from July 1 2009 the newly merged business will be known as The Optoplast Actman Eyewear Company with Andrew Actman, James Conway, Janice Mico and Daniel Thorn as directors. The merged business will operate from Liverpool with a design office in Weybridge, Surrey. The merger excludes the Optoplast cases and accessories business.

Andrew Actman, who is currently the chairman of the Federation of Manufacturing Opticians, started Andrew Actman in 1986. He subsequently formed a partnership with Janice Mico to create Actman & Mico.
