To celebrate its fifth anniversary of partnership with Carl Zeiss, AM Eyewear has introduced the limited edition CarMen to highlight lens technology within its luxury frame styling.
Carmen features four interchangeable Zeiss lenses which have been developed in collaboration with AM Eyewear. The frame firm said the idea of CarMen was to highlight the technical excellence of the lenses which are defined as Bluez, Gold ET, Red and Green coatings, within a contemporary luxury frame. Each lens has a subtle insignia logo hand-lasered to prove its authenticity.
The frame takes a golden, oversized aviator and adds some technical features to enable the lenses to be easily switched. At the bridge is a threaded barrel which, when turned, reduces tension within the frame allowing the lenses to be simply and quickly removed and replaced. Once the chosen lens is in place the knurled barrel is turned to re-tension the frame and secure the lens in place.
