Advanced Medical Optics has signed a sponsorship agreement with the European Triathlon Union, making it title sponsor for this year's triathlon season.
Proceeds from the sponsorship will ' double the prize fund for the top 10 male and female athletes for 2005'.
Daniel Gleed, AMO's marketing manager, said: 'Triathlon is a young and wonderfully vibrant sport and our company is pleased to be associated with it throughout Europe.'
AMO will sponsor eye care professionals and employees to take part, supported by the Complete Experience, which, like a triathlon, consists of three elements - Complete Aquavision soft monthly contact lenses, Complete MoisturePlus solution and the Complete RapidCare soft contact lens cleaning device.
AMO will sponsor two events in the UK - The South Shropshire Sprint Triathlon on September 25 and the Newent Triathlon on October 2.
