AOP's Ian Hunter in honours list

Association of Optometrists general secretary, Ian Hunter, was awarded the OBE in the Queen's birthday honours announced last weekend.

The third AOP general secretary since the war, Mr Hunter succeeded Reg Pine in 1984. Previously Mr Hunter had served on the Optometric Fees Review Committee (previously the Whitley Council). He has been secretary general of the European Council of Optometry and Optics since 1986. Mr Hunter graduated from the University of Wales College of Cardiff in 1967 as a registered optometrist, and was in practice until 1984.
