Apple forces name change

Thomson Software Solutions (TSS) has been forced to change the name of its EyePad.

The downloadable app that allows vision screening and assessment using an iPad tablet computer was considered by Apple to have a name that implied direct endorsement.

Professor David Thomson, inventor and founder of TSS, explained: 'We have changed the name of the app to the Vision Toolbox - not quite so slick but a reasonably accurate description of what it does.'
