A student optometrist who was set to start practising in September died in a quad bike accident on holiday in Corfu on August 2.
Dhiren Shah, an Aston University graduate, was killed when he crashed his rented bike the day before he was due to return home, according to www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk. The 22-year-old suffered fatal head injuries after colliding with a wall.
Shah had travelled to Corfu with eight friends on his first trip abroad without his parents Haresh and Ila Shah. His family said they hoped his death would be a lesson to other people travelling abroad not to take unnecessary risks.
Paying tribute, his father said: 'He was an ideal son, very popular and clever.' Some 400 people attended his funeral, raising £600 for SightSavers International.
