Barnard joins The Institute

Dr Simon Barnard has joined The Institute of Optometry as director of ocular medicine. He will be responsible for the post-graduate ocular medicine education programme.

Dr Barnard was a lecturer in clinical optometry from 1979 to 1999 and director of paediatric clinics until 2002 at the Department of Optometry & Visual Science, City University. He is visiting lecturer and tutor in ocular disease at City and also works in private practice.
Deacon Harle, co-director of The Institute of Optometry said: 'We look forward to being able to offer the profession an accessible and complete ocular therapeutics prescribing programme to meet the requirements of future legislation.'
