A new pre-screening service has been offered by the British Contact Lens Association for submissions of posters and scientific papers ahead of its next conference.
The service offers feedback on abstracts from members of the BCLA Academic Committee. Authors were urged to meet a deadline of November 30 for the pre-screening, ahead of the BCLA's 37th Clinical Conference and Exhibition in Manchester in June next year.
'The usual reason for rejecting a submission is that the author does not adhere to the specific criteria,' said BCLA Academic Committee chair Professor Roger Buckley. 'However, it can also be something as simple as inappropriate use of language. This new service will give the authors a second chance to have their abstract accepted, though it does not guarantee acceptance. They will get a professional opinion and critical feedback on their proposal at an early stage, free of charge.'
