The GOC has been preparing a list of practitioners participating in contact lens CET this year, and optometrists and dispensing opticians can apply to have their names listed. A minimum of six contact lens-specific CET credits is needed. The College of Optometrists and Association of British Dispensing Opticians have awarded 16 credits for the three-day scientific programme which runs from May 26-28 at Birmingham's Stakis Metropole Hotel. Credits can also be gained by attending any of the 10 clinical workshops. In a first, the BCLA conference has been approved by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists for continuing medical education points (one point per hour), and is accredited by the Council on Optometric Practitioner Education for participation by US optometrists (13 hours in total).
